Best acoustic guitars for under $500?

I've been playing for about 4 years with a $100 Fender starter bundle guitar and am looking to upgrade. Heard good things about the Seagull s6 and a follow up question would be is it a bad idea to order guitar online without trying it in store?

I wouldn't order a guitar online unless there were a no hassle, no cost return policy. However, I would much rather pick it up and play it prior to purchasing.
