How to practice scales with a thumbpick?

Hey Emil/fellow guitarists,

Is there instruction in any of the videos here on how to practice single note lines or scales with a thumbpick?

I don't hear it talked about much but, of course, that's part of what makes Emil's (or other thumbpickers) playing so great - they can switch from a boom-chick pattern to some fast single-note lines in a second.

So I'm looking for advice on technique for playing scales on a thumbpick.
