      @emilernebro

      Like @pehlmanr I am also wondering what the best right-hand technique approach might be.

      I'm currently rethinking my own approach as I'm trying to play your version of "Autumn Leaves". I am wondering how you did the first run on 0:19?

      Did you straight-pick it all, or did you do hammer-ons and pull-offs?

      I would really appreciate some guidance about this.

      Thank you. Huge fan here from Germany.

      Hi,

      You need to login to see the lesson content. If you can find the "Login/Register"-button i the upper right corner you are not logged in, and need to login. You can see a screenshot of this here: https://www.proguitar.com/about/faq

      Here a link to the lesson: https://www.proguitar.com/login?redirect_uri=/academy/lessons/country-guitar-soloing-concepts

      @Rostislav
      Hi!

      Glad you like the lesson! :)

      One of the things I focus on in that lesson is the use of pentatonic scales and how to "follow the chords" or "outline" the changes using pentatonic scales only. (I also talk a lot about that in the lesson "Country Guitar: Soloing Concepts".

      So what I propose you try is, if you have a progression like a I IV V, in the key of C for example, it would be (two bars of each chord):

      C / C / F / F / G / G / C / C /

      You can play C major pentatonic over the whole progression, and it would sound good, BUT, if you try and play C major pentatonic over the C chord, and then F major pentatonic over the F chord, and then G major pentatonic over the G chord, you'll notice that this will outline the changes much more.
      Did you try that concept yet?

      When I create solos I use all the knowledge that I have, and it's from experience, years of transcribing my favourite musicians solos or licks/lines, and I've had many good teachers that has helped me to learn how to use the different scales and arpeggios etc. So I don't have a short answer for the last question.

      Kind regards/E

      We want to investigate this further and it would help us a lot if you could get back to us with audio and/or a video showing this behavior since we can not recreate the issue on our test devices.

      Hi there and thank you so much for the kind words! :) I have a lesson called "Banjo Rolls for Guitar" on this site, and everything I know about the "jerrys breakdown"-playing is in that video! :) I even added a song to that lesson called "Squirrel Chase Rag" (check it out below) that I teach in that lesson. And that song is actually a tribute to Jerry and his song Jerrys Breakdown! Also, "Open String Licks VOL. 2" might be worth checking out if you like that style! :) Kind regards/Emil

      @Serge
      Hi there!
      Glad to hear that you like the lesson "Fingerstyle Jazz Comping"! :-) Comping (an abbreviation of "accompaniment") is the chords and rhythms that musicians use when we support (or back up) a singer, soloist or a someone playing the melody etc. So in this lesson, we focus on the comping and rhythm guitar playing in the Fingerstyle Jazz style. Kind regards /E
